What you get on each.
Almost everything is identical. One thing is not, and we would rather you knew before installing than after.

Why SMS is Android-only. Apple provides no interface for a third-party app to read or send text messages, and no way for one to become your default messaging app. That is a platform decision by Apple, not a feature we skipped. No app on the App Store can do it, and any that claims to is describing something else.
Why WhatsApp, Discord and Slack are Android-only. None of the three lets another app read your messages, so on Android Textly reads their notifications instead. iOS has no equivalent interface: an app there cannot see other apps' notifications at all. This is the same kind of platform limit as SMS, and it applies to every app on the App Store, not only to us.

What you need
A device that can run the models locally: [MIN. iOS VERSION / DEVICE] on iPhone, [MIN. ANDROID VERSION / RAM] on Android.
Connecting channels uses the accounts you already have. Textly creates none of them.
What you don't need
No sign-up, no email address, no phone verification, no payment method. There is nothing to register because there is no Textly account and no Textly server behind it, on either platform.

On Android: add SMS
Confirm Textly as your default SMS app and your existing text history appears immediately. On iPhone this step does not exist.

Before you switch
Two things worth knowing.
Nothing is taken away from you
Textly is a client, not a migration. Your WhatsApp account stays your WhatsApp account and its own app keeps working. On Android, your texts live in the system message storage rather than inside Textly. Setting Textly as the default SMS app shows them, and switching back shows them there again. Uninstalling deletes no messages anywhere.
Leaving is as easy as arriving
Any channel can be disconnected in one tap, which wipes its cached messages and credentials from your device. We have no account to close and no data to hand back, because we never had any.
